Recreation Mentor Program

Are you new to Fort Cavazos and want to learn how to fish and navigate the iSportsman system? Do you want to learn to deer hunt but have a hard time knowing whether the deer meets the rules for harvest?  Do you want to pig hunt but you’re concerned you won’t be able to load your harvest? There are many situations in which there may be free assistance available to help you have an excellent recreational opportunity at Fort Cavazos!

In the past, the structure of the hunt program more easily facilitated new hunters being able to interact with veterans and learn from them.  With the recent changes to the recreation program, it was recognized that fishermen and people recreating in other ways would also benefit from assistance from those individuals that already know the Fort Cavazos landscape, iSportsman recreation system, and general information about their recreational activity of choice.

The Recreation Mentor Program’s aim is to connect those interested in getting help with those who are knowledgeable and willing to help. The program is completely voluntary for both parties.  If you are interested in helping mentor those who are new to Fort Cavazos or new to a particular recreational activity, please click the link below to find out more information about how to "Be a Recreation Mentor"If you are interest in getting connected to a Recreation Mentor, please click the link below Connecting with a Recreation Mentor.
